In 2001 I graduated with a Masters Degree in metalwork and jewellery from The National College of Art and Design in Oslo.  Since then I have taken part in several exhibitions. Along with working in my own studio in Oslo I have also worked as an art teacher. My workshop is in Oslo, at the studio Rom Essens.

I mainly make jewelleries but also sculptures. The jewelleries are often like little wearable sculptures.

Simultaneously it is important to me that the pieces relate, within a certain context, to the body. I like to make jewellery in series with variations on a theme. Materials are chosen based on the ideas' expression and functionality. The maritime scene creates a frame around a lot of my work.

Interpreted with this scene in mind, variations in form and function are repeated in many of the series. I find this theme amusing and engaging to work with. In some of the objects I also seek to express a balance between the playful and serious, with a slight touch of comedy.
